Adrian’s Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I believe chocolate chip cookies are the way to everyone’s heart. I’ve proven this with my wonderful boyfriend, Adrian, who tends to say the magical word “Cookie” whenever he wants the delicious treat. I’m convinced that he loves me just a little more after I bake these for him. He isn’t the only one though. I am also a slut for these cookies, and so is my entire family. My stepdad is one of them. It seems like every week I’m making these cookies because “The cookie jar is looking very empty.” It’s just one of those classic treats that nobody gets sick of apparently. I’ve tried many chocolate chip cookie recipes; this is the best. These cookies are soft with just enough crispiness, of course, if you bake them just right.

What will you need for these Chocolate Chip Cookies?

  • 2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp of Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp of Salt
  • 3/4 Cup of Unsalted Butter or, if you can’t do the math, 12 TBSP, or, to simplify further, 1 stick and a 1/2. MELTED
  • 1 Cup of packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup of White Sugar
  • 1 TBSP of Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 2 Cups of Chocolate Chips

Chocolate Chip Cookie magic…

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F
  2. Add 2 Cups of Flour, 1/2 tsp of Baking Soda, and 1/2 tsp of Salt to a bowl. Mix together. You want that salt flavor evenly distributed.
  3. In a glass measuring cup, melt 3/4 Cup of Butter until it’s completely melted.
  4. In another bowl, cream together 3/4 Cup of Melted Butter, 1 Cup of packed Light Brown Sugar, 1/2 Cup of White Sugar, 1 TBSP of Vanilla Extract, 1 Egg, and 1 Egg yolk. If you’re like me, just combine everything in the glass measuring cup instead of getting another bowl. Whatever works for you.
  5. Add the Melted Butter mixture to the Flour mixture. Stir until a dough is formed. Finally, add in your chocolate chips.
  6. Drop large spoon fulls evenly (about 1.5 to 2 inches apart) onto a baking sheet for about 10 minutes. Rotate the sheets and switch racks at the 5-minute mark for an even bake.

I recommend sticking around the oven and watching your cookies. YOU DO NOT WANT TO OVER-BAKE THESE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES! If you do, enjoy a crunchy cookie.

*TIP: Your chocolate chip cookies are done when they start turning golden brown, and the tops crack.

Cooling & Storage

Allow your chocolate chip cookies to cool on the baking sheet for an additional 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Make sure that they’re completely cooled to room temperature before storing. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
